Carys Wooldridge is a painter working predominantly in oil paints, based in Gloucestershire where she was born and raised. It has always been her desire in life to be an artist and she began painting from a young age. In 2021, she undertook a Fine Art Degree part-time at Bath School of Art. Whilst navigating Fine Art studies and Motherhood, she has sharpened her skills with oil paints and developed her practice, inspired by romantic great JMW. Turner and his awe inspiring skill with light and colour. Her love of nature is reflected in dramatic skyscapes and gentle landscapes.

In this collection, I invite you into dreamlike spaces where light, mist, and memory converge. Painted in oils with a romantic sensibility, they capture the quiet drama of the natural world—lonely valleys, shifting skies, and still waters—balancing mystery with a deep, contemplative beauty.

Held by the Hills
£876.00

From the high shelf of Uley Bury, summer stretches quietly into the vale below. The hills hold the light like memory — warm, layered, and familiar. This painting is not just a view but a feeling: of looking out and being looked after, of standing in stillness where the land feels known. A place shaped by seasons and seen anew in every step. Greens deepen, shadows settle, and the sky, though restless, does not intrude. It’s a hush between thought and presence — where the land offers stillness, and something within leans into it.
